DepartmentAl Objectives

 

At the end of the course, the learner should be able to:

        acquire the knowledge of

1)      the laws and principles relating to the biochemical functions

2)      the nutritional problems prevalent in the community

        demonstrate the basic skill in

1)      using instruments that are commonly used by medical technologist

2)      performing and interpreting basic biochemical laboratory tests and procedures 

        show the habit of

1)      self education through critical reading and evaluation of information

2)      applying scientific methods in solving health problems related to each discipline

3)      taking  responsibilities and maintenance of discipline

4)      participating in team work

5)      regarding the importance of biochemistry as a basis for understanding clinical  disciplines

6)      towards the importance of imparting health education in the community

7)      towards the need for continuing self-education

Second Year

 -  Lectures                       : 119 hrs

 -  Tutorial                         :   29 hrs

 -  Practical                        :   15 hrs

 -  Class Tests                   :     9 hrs (3 hrs per test & total three class tests)

 -  Practical Test                 :    1 hr

 -  Revision                       :     7 hrs

    -  Total                              : 180 hrs
